Meet Dr. Steve Bruce, Specialist Pain Management Physician
Dr. Steve Bruce is a dual-qualified specialist in pain medicine and anaesthesia with extensive experience in managing complex conditions. He holds fellowships from the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA, 2017) and the Faculty of Pain Medicine (FFPMANZCA, 2023). Additionally, he earned a Postgraduate Certificate in Regional Anaesthesia from the University of East Anglia in 2020, underscoring his expertise in this field. His areas of interest include interventional pain management techniques, cancer pain management, regional anaesthesia, vascular, and orthopaedic anaesthesia. Dr. Bruce is passionate about delivering patient-centered care through multidisciplinary approaches for both cancer and chronic non-cancer pain. With active roles in clinical practice, research, and education, Dr. Bruce strives to offer the latest evidence-based treatments for long-term pain relief.
Dr. Bruce completed his medical degree at Queen’s University, Belfast in 2007, and has undergone postgraduate training in anaesthesia and pain medicine across institutions in Northern Ireland and Australia, including John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle. He has worked extensively in both public and private healthcare settings, providing high-quality care to a diverse range of patients.
